Lemon Healthcare and Kakao Pay (377300), which have secured Korea's largest network of hospitals and clinics, have joined hands to expand their hospital billing services.
Lemon Healthcare announced on the 10th that it has decided to link the mutual platforms in partnership with Kakao (035720) Pay to spread the culture of simple claims for loss insurance without documents.
Under the partnership, users of Kakao Pay's "Hospital Billing" service can use "Simple Claiming Without Documents" for 85 places, including major higher hospitals and general hospitals linked to the Lemon Healthcare's "Claiming God" real-life claim relay platform. Linkage work will also be promoted so that the hospital's medical records can be retrieved from the Kakao Pay app.
In September 2020, Lemon Healthcare launched an app claim that allows hospitals to easily claim and issue certificates for loss insurance. Currently, 38 out of 45 high-level hospitals in Korea and 1,400 hospitals and clinics nationwide have partnered with medical data. It has also completed partnerships with a total of 40 insurance companies, including 16 non-life insurers and 24 life insurers operating in Korea. Patients who visited the hospital and received medical treatment can easily claim loss insurance directly within the app without having to print a separate medical bill at the hospital window and submit it to the insurance company.
Last year, the number of simple claims for loss insurance through the Claiming New app exceeded 1 million. The company expects that if the partnership expands the inflow of users from Kakao Pay and others, it will be able to surpass 1 million monthly uses by the end of this year.
Hong Byung-jin, CEO of Lemon Healthcare, said, "With this partnership, we will establish a simple claim service for real-life insurance without billing documents through various mobile apps," adding, "We will steadily expand the network of affiliated hospitals and develop into a company that provides customized digital healthcare services based on personal health data."
