Monitoring COVID-19 confirmed patients, close patient management, biometric records, non-face-to-face medical treatment, and emergency phone of medical staff are installed
[Central News = Shin Local Reporter] While lifting social distancing and expecting the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been confirmed that public-tailored non-face-to-face treatment platforms have played a major role in supporting COVID-19 treatment over the past two years.
Since last year, when the spread of COVID-19 began in earnest, non-face-to-face medical services such as telemedicine and home treatment have increased significantly, and non-face-to-face treatment apps have played a big role in patient management in public medical institutions such as public health centers. Since the beginning of this year, the quarantine system centered on home treatment has been changed, and public medical apps centered on public health centers and private medical apps centered on local hospitals are being used complementarily.
In the public medical non-face-to-face treatment app, the "Living Treatment Center Non-face-to-face Treatment Support Service" was actively used to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic and manage confirmed patients. It was developed by Lemon Healthcare, a two-way healthcare platform company, at the request of the Korea Health and Medical Information Service in November 20, and is equipped with functions such as biometric records monitoring, non-face-to-face treatment, and emergency phone calls for medical staff.
Through this app, patients measured their own biological signals such as body temperature, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, and blood sugar every day, transmitted them to local health centers and medical staff in real time, and received 1:1 non-face-to-face treatment with medical staff if necessary.
Basically, it has been used for COVID-19 patients who are residents of the residential treatment center, and since the second half of last year, the scope of use has expanded to home treatment for mild and asymptomatic patients who have not been admitted to the residential treatment center due to the surge in the number of confirmed patients.
In fact, the app played a significant role in non-face-to-face treatment services for public health care. According to Lemon Healthcare, as of the end of last month, the cumulative non-face-to-face treatment through the app recorded 28,000 times, and 24.8 million cases of patient biometric information were registered.
In addition, as the quarantine system shifted to home treatment from February this year, Lemon Healthcare recently expanded its function to a "COVID-19 medical support system" that improved the existing app system and provided it to related organizations.
It has been improved to make it convenient for patients, medical institution users, and health authorities managers to use at home. Lemon Healthcare predicts that patients classified as COVID-19 intensive management groups will be able to manage patients more closely as home treatment management is still conducted under public medical supervision.
Meanwhile, as home treatment for patients in the general management group was conducted under the jurisdiction of self-treatment and general local hospitals, the number of users of non-face-to-face treatment and prescription apps in the private medical field increased significantly. In the meantime, from the beginning of this month, general patients have changed to face-to-face treatment centered on outpatient centers and local hospitals, and the market for non-face-to-face treatment and prescription drug delivery platforms is expected to be greatly affected by the direction of telemedicine policies that have been temporarily allowed.
"As the quarantine system has recently been reorganized into a daily recovery and home treatment stage, non-face-to-face treatment services are led by private medical sectors such as local hospitals, and public health is focusing on managing high-risk patients," a Lemon Healthcare official said. "Lemon Healthcare is a new medical system that can be conveniently used by large-scale users under the supervision of various medical managers, and will secure stability in the quarantine system and contribute to expanding non-face-to-face medical services in Korea."
